Seaquest State Park hugs the shore of Silver Lake in the foothills of Mount St. Helens, famous for its major eruption on May 18, 1980. A major attraction at the park is the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center, where the story of the mountain’s volcanic history is interpreted with exhibits, ranger programs and audio-visual media.

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission (Parks) has identified 35 public recreational mooring buoys across western Washington that are at risk of breaking in the future.  

Starting this week, Parks will close these buoys, which the agency plans to replace. Even though individual buoys will close, the impacted parks will still have other mooring buoys available for use.

Squilchuck State Park is nestled in a mountain valley southeast of the city of Wenatchee in Central Washington.

Located in northeastern Washington, Curlew Lake State Park is an 87-acre park that is a popular destination for fishing and camping.
Offered to Washington State residents who are 62 years or older with an annual income of $40,000 or less.
Washington state residents who are veterans with a 30% or greater combined service-connected disability can apply for this pass.

OLYMPIA — As a proud member of the Washington Clean Coast Alliance, the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission (Parks) will co-host the annual International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 21.    

This year’s event will take place at six state parks: Cape Disappointment, Fort Worden, Grayland Beach, Ocean City, Pacific Beach and Twin Harbors.
