At the foot of Sauk Mountain, featuring 250-foot tall rare old-growth trees and a Skagit River overlook, Rockport State Park is one of the few places to view a rare ecosystem.
Accessible from Highway 20, rafting and kayaking are allowed on the Skagit River. River access is prohibited within the Park.

Picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
A rental picnic shelter is available for up to 30 people. The shelter has picnic tables, fire ring, grill and amphitheater seating. No electrical service.

Hike through the old-growth forest on Evergreen or Fern Creek trails. Or overlook the Skagit River on Sauk Springs and Skagit View trails, each are a one-mile, easy hike. The West Loop Interpretive Trail is a one-mile ADA trail.
Approximately eight miles off Highway 20 on a gravel logging road, U.S Forest Service Road 1030 will lead to the Sauk Mountain trailhead. The hike to the summit, offering good views of the Skagit Valley and the North Cascades, is moderately steep and approximately two miles with numerous switchbacks.
