Forest thinning: Helping trees and wildlife thrive

Our state parks aren’t just beautiful places to camp, hike and explore the outdoors. They're also home to millions of Washington’s most iconic plants and animals. One of the ways our foresters help protect the species that depend on the health of these important ecosystems is through a practice called forest thinning.
