SPOKANE — Washington State Parks invites community members to help shape the next 20 years of Mount Spokane State Park by attending a public meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Shadle Park Library.

At this meeting, park planners will share the draft Preferred Alternative for the park’s Master Plan, which outlines a long-term vision for Mount Spokane. The draft includes a list of prioritized improvement projects, land classifications and long-term boundary recommendations — all aimed at enhancing the visitor experience for the next 20 years.

Provide feedback for the Final Preferred Alternative

Doors open at 4 p.m. and a brief staff presentation will begin at 4:30 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback after the presentation.

The input gathered at this meeting will help shape the Final Preferred Alternative, which will set the vision for the updated Master Plan that is scheduled for completion in 2026. The plan has been in development since early 2024 and reflects input gathered from the community and stakeholders throughout the process.

State Parks staff are also updating and seeking input on the Interpretive Plan for Mount Spokane. This plan will help shape the park’s interpretation and informational features, like educational and storytelling signage and displays.
