Volunteer Program
Volunteer with Washington State Parks
Anyone can be a Washington State Parks volunteer! Explore our volunteer opportunities below to find out how you can get involved.
Park Host Program
The popular Park Host Program offers enthusiastic and interested volunteers the chance to stay and have fun in beautiful and diverse park settings while gaining experience in park operations and visitor services. Hosts are needed year-round in many Washington State Parks. Learn more about our host program here.
Individual volunteers
Many parks need volunteers on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. You can support your local park by volunteering a few hours each week or month. Learn more about individual volunteer opportunities here.
Group volunteers
Make a difference and get outdoors with your family, scout troop, school, business or organization. Groups of all kinds can help support state parks on a one-time or recurring basis. Learn more about our group volunteer opportunities here.
Beach cleanups
Beach cleanups are suitable for the whole family and are a fun and exciting way to participate in a meaningful activity while enjoying a day at the beach. Volunteer for one of our cleanups and help get marine debris off our beaches. Learn more here.
Friends groups
Friends groups help support and promote local state parks around the state. Consider becoming a member or volunteering for your local state parks’ friends group. Learn more about our friends groups and how you can get involved here.
Volunteering has its rewards
Hours spent on certain volunteer projects can qualify volunteers for a complimentary Discover Pass. Learn more here.
