Volunteer Event - Riverside State Park - Refurbish Picnic Table's

Riverside State Park

Join us Thursday, July 3rd, from 9AM-12PM to work on prepping picnic tables for installation. We will sand down the boards using circular and belt sanders, followed by cleaning and staining the boards. There are also a few orchard trees in the area that we can work on pruning as well.

Junior Ranger Program - Deception Pass

Deception Pass State Park

Join staff in fun, family friendly explorations of Deception Pass State Park’s amazing wildlife and unique collection of forest and marine habitats. Programs last 30 minutes and are designed for ages 4 to 12, though all are welcome. Children attending Junior Ranger Programs must be accompanied by an adult.

Stop by the amphitheater before the Evening Program to complete a fun theme-based craft or activity. Pick up a Junior Ranger Booklet or turn in a completed one for a badge. Staff will start packing up materials at 6:55pm to prepare for the Evening Program.

Sunset Walk - Deception Pass

Join staff to explore Deception Pass State Park as the sunsets. Explore natural phenomenon only experienced with the setting sun or in the dark. Discover the park come to life as nocturnal animals become active. Walk locations and topics are subject to change based on the time of sunset. Walks are 45 minutes in length and include various terrain.

Spend your Saturday morning exploring Deception Pass State Park and discover some of the common, and not so common, species of birds that call the park home. The walks are an hour long and are a great opportunity for birders of all levels. Practice bird identification skills, explore unique bird habitats, and learn from other birders.
