Take a stroll around Lime Kiln Point State Park with Park Ranger McElhaney, to start off the new year. We will be hiking to the Whale Wall, the Lime Kiln Point Lighthouse, and the oldest manmade structure in WA State Parks the historic Lime Kilns. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know more about the park, its rich history, and celebrate the New Year.
Interpretive Ranger, David McWalter, will read a story and share some amazing information about our local geography, geology, wildlife and weather.

Join Ranger Gladson for a New Years Day hike to Clayton Beach at Larrabee State Park. This newly renovated trail is family friendly and includes stream bridges, boardwalks over wetlands, and a new pedestrian overpass. Ranger Gladson will provide interpretation along the way with local flora and fauna as well as history of Larrabee State Park.

The onsite Ranger will walk the new campground loop, providing information about the new campground and the plant life in the area.
Come on out to Sacajawea Historical State Park to learn about some “Nansense” (nature nonsense with Ranger Nan)! Each week has a different topic, but we will always begin with storytime with Ranger Nan, followed by an activity and/or craft! This program is recommended for kids aged 4-8, but all are welcome! The hike will be led by a park ranger and will follow Twanoh Creek before climbing up to a forested ridgetop. It then follows a service road along the ridge before descending back to end along the creek.
Enjoy this Ranger-led hike. Expect to see the park’s inner beauty and enjoy this healthy working forest. Bring in the new year, whether this is your first time or your annual trip.
Bring your leashed pet to Larrabee State Park to learn about camping and hiking safety with them.
Under the supervision of a Park Ranger, Park Aides perform a variety of tasks at a State Park, beach or historical area. A typical workday may include anything from registering campers and collecting camp fees, to cleaning facilities, mowing lawns or explaining park rules. The specific duties will have some variation by park location.
Ring in the New year with a hike around Lincoln Rock State Park and the Rocky Reach Trail with park staff as we look for and discuss the wildlife of our park and area, followed up with a campfire, food, refreshments, and Junior Ranger activities for the kids.
