Overview

Fort Flagler’s Museum is housed in the historic Quartermaster Storehouse. Explore exhibits about the Coast Artillery Corps' strategic role and what daily life was like for soldiers who served at the fort in the early 1900s, along with a nature themed touch table. Fort Flagler's Museum has something for everyone! Along with many artifacts on display, the museum features a seven-minute film that plays on a loop and several hands-on activities. Visitors can try a button-making machine, use Army field phones, create their own postcard, take part in scavenger hunts and more.

Parking

Parking is available in front of the museum for passenger vehicles and camper vans. Discover Passes are required for parking.

RV parking is not accommodated in front of the museum. Continue driving past the museum towards the historical barracks (two story yellow buildings). Just past the buildings, on the right, is a large parking lot that RVs can utilize and there is a sidewalk across the road that leads to the museum.

Public Events

Interested in learning more about the park's history, wildlife and natural resources? Seasonally, Fort Flagler offers a variety of ranger-led events such as campfire talks, pop-up exhibits, Jr. Ranger programs and more. Join a volunteer-led walking tour offered May - Aug. and learn more about historical fort operations and what life was like for the soldiers that once lived here.

Visit the museum for more information or keep an eye on the Events Calendar for dates and times for Historical Gun Emplacement Tours, Historical Hospital Open House and other free park events! Don't forget to stop by the Museum or Welcome Center to grab a Junior Ranger packet for kids four years of age and older. 

Group Programs

We love working with groups to get more people out to our parks! There are a variety of pre-planned school programs for field trips and group tours for clubs, scouts, family reunions, etc. for you to choose from.  

Add a fun, interactive and educational experience to your trip by filling out the Group Program Request Form (programs must be requested at least two weeks in advance of your visit to the park). View program descriptions to learn more about the types of programs offered.
