Edwardian Elegance: A Stroll Through Time at Fort Worden
Dress in your afternoon best to celebrate the turn of the 20th century! Explore the Commanding Officer's Quarters and learn about the innovations and cultural changes that marked the transition from the Victorian era to the Edwardian era. After exploring the museum, enjoy a picnic on the porch of the COQ museum, play a game of chess or checkers, try your hand at croquet on the lawn, or embark on an afternoon stroll along the historical parade grounds in front of the museum.
The museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and snacks will be served until they run out. Inside the museum, there will be scavenger hunts for all ages and coloring pages for children.
Entry to the museum is free, though donations are greatly appreciated. Discover passes, which are needed for parking at Fort Worden State Park, are available at an automated kiosk near the tennis courts upon entering the park.
Please note that the house has several exterior steps to access the porch and two flights of stairs inside. If you have any questions regarding accessibility or the event, feel free to contact park staff at 360-344-4426 for assistance. For more information, please refer to Washington State Parks' ADA notice.
*This event takes place during Port Townsend's annual Victorian Heritage Festival.
