Hispanic Heritage Festival returns to Millersylvania

OLYMPIA – The Washington State Latino Leadership Network (LLN) and Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission invite the public to attend the third-annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at Millersylvania State Park south of Olympia.

The community event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The day’s programming features musical performances by Correo Aereo, Mariachi Ayutla and La Nueva Novedad.

Keynote speakers include Seattle tech and thought leader Ana Maria S.V. Pinto da Silva and State Representative Bill Ramos.

Attendees will enjoy a lunch of traditional South and Central American food.

Activities will highlight Washington’s diverse and vibrant Latine heritage, including games, dance lessons and more.

Nonprofits and agencies serving the Latine community will have outreach booths where visitors can learn more about their services 

Additionally, the organizers encourage volunteerism and are asking for help with event setup, sign-in table, lotería games, food and beverage service and event tear-down. Interested volunteers can reach out by email.

The event is free, though a Discover Pass is required for parking. Attendance is limited to 300 people. Register in advance before Sept. 25.
