State Parks Commission to meet in Lacey

OLYMPIA — The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will hold its regular commission meeting on Oct. 16 at its headquarters in Lacey.
The public is welcome to attend in-person or online.
Agenda items include:
- Requested action to delegate authority to the agency director to enter into a long-term lease agreement with Centrum for their use of several buildings at Fort Worden Historical State Park
- A legislative update
- A financial update
- An update on tracking and evaluating agency revenue
- An update on camping occupancy trends, data and improvement efforts
A work session is scheduled the day before the regular meeting on Oct. 15. The public is welcome to attend in person or online, however there will be no opportunity for the public to comment and no final action will be taken.

On Tues., Oct. 14, the Commission will visit Saltwater State Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Commission will meet at the Creek Shelter. The public is welcome to attend but must provide their own transportation. No public comment will be taken.
Public comment
Public comments may be submitted in-person or virtually. If you wish to comment at a meeting, please fill out a comment card and provide it to staff at the sign in table. The Chair will call you up to the front at the appropriate time.
To provide virtual comment, you will need to be able to join the Attendee Web link from your computer (no phone option available). Pre-registration is required. To register, email commission@parks.wa.gov by 5 p.m. on Oct. 10. Please provide the name you will be logging in under, contact phone number as well as the agenda item or general topic you will be speaking on. You will receive an email by noon on Oct. 13 with specific instructions around virtual testimony.
Written public comment will be accepted for all agenda items until 5 p.m. on Oct. 10 by email or mail. Any comments received after the cutoff will be given to the commission before its next meeting.
