Winter Camping

Developed campgrounds and trailer dump are closed for the season. Camping is currently First-Come, First-Served in a designated area of the South Park Day Use Parking Lot, adjacent to the playground. The camping area has picnic tables, fire pits, and a heated restroom with free hot showers available. RV size is restricted to no longer than 20’ in combination length in the South Park. Overnight visitors are required to display a valid Sno-Park Pass* for their vehicle in addition to the Camping Permit ($23/night) for the primary vehicle or Extra Vehicle Permit ($10/night) for any additional vehicles. Cash/Check is accepted at self-serve pay stations located in the park, credit cards are also accepted at the day-use parking lot across the road from the restroom.

*A Valid Sno-Park Pass means either a Daily Sno-Park Permit ($25) or a Seasonal Sno-Park Pass w/ the Special Groomed Trails Permit ($120).

Grooming is suspended, Sno-Park season in effect

Unfortunately, due to low snow conditions, grooming is suspended on the Lake Wenatchee Sno-Park trails. Hopefully, we will receive snow before the end of the season.  In case we receive snow in the future Sno-Parks will stay in place.

The Sno-Park season is now in effect. Discover Passes are not valid for winter day-use parking at Lake Wenatchee State Park. A Daily Sno-Park Pass ($25) or Seasonal Sno-Park Permit with Special Groomed Trails Permit ($120) is required. Passes are available online or in the park. Overnight visitors should review the Winter Camping Alert for additional instructions.

Lake Wenatchee Sno-Park is located in Lake Wenatchee State Park

Lake Wenatchee Sno-park is located in the Leavenworth/Chelan region. This Sno-park consists of 2 main lots:

The North Lot features approximately 6.5 miles of non-motorized trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

The South Lot features a 150' sled hill and approximately 8.5 miles of non-motorized trails for snowshoeing, cross country skiing. These trails connect with the Nason Ridge Sno-Park.
  • Trail Length: North Lot: 6.6 km of groomed, XC ski trails and 2.4 miles of snowshoe trails. South Lot: Over 8.7 km of groomed, XC ski trails and 3 miles of snowshoe trails.
  • Elevation: 1,875 feet

Good to knows

North Lot: Vault toilets available, groomed cross country ski & snowshoe trails. No overnight camping allowed.
South Lot: Heated bathrooms, warming hut, sled hill, groomed cross country ski & snowshoe trails, permit kiosk, overnight camping allowed ($20 per night with valid sno-park permit)

Directions & Maps

North lot: 20 miles north of Leavenworth on Hwy 2 West to SR 207/Lake Wenatchee Hwy. Stay left at the fork, then .25 mile to North Park entrance.

South lot: 20 miles north of Leavenworth on Hwy 2 West to SR 207 for 3.5 miles. Turn left on Cedar Brae Road to the South Park entrance.
