Submission deadlines
Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024.You must submit the required application and supporting documents by or before the deadline. Applications that fail to meet the minimum submission requirements may be disqualified.
2023-2024 Grant Cycle Timeline
- October 20, 2023 – PRISM opens for applications.
- January 10, 2024 – Applications due by 5 p.m.
- March 2024 – Successful grants announced.
- April 2024 – Grants awarded.
Washington Sea Grant is hosting their annual Boating Facilities Grant Workshop virtually on Wednesday, December 13 from 10 AM-12 PM.
Funding availability
Funding availability is subject to change. Funding comes to the Washington State parks boating program from a competitive federal grant managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Project evaluation
Project evaluation is a competitive process based on a of set scoring criteria. Applications are reviewed and scored by a panel of evaluators representing state agencies, the boating and marina community and State parks. Project scores are tabulated and compiled into a ranked list. State parks staff will present the final ranked list with recommendations to the agency director, who makes the final decision on funded projects.
Typical projects
The CVA Grant Program provides grants for publicly accessible Marine Sewage Disposal Facilities, that are for recreational boats only.
Projects typically funded include construction, renovation or the ongoing operation and maintenance costs of public pumpouts, dump stations, floating restrooms and pumpout boats.
Eligible applicants
Cities, towns, counties and State agencies. Public, private and tribal owned boating facility operators. Special purpose districts, such as ports and public utility districts. Tribal governments. Qualified nonprofits and private operators (see grant guide for qualifications).
