Come join us for another day for the history books at Fort Columbia! Enjoy live music, ranger talks, and guided tours of Battery 246 at this free event.

There’s something fun for everyone at this free Open House that showcases everything Fort Columbia has to offer. Skamokawa Swamp Opera brings us eclectic folk music that plays with past and present stories of the Columbia-Pacific region.

Guided tours of Battery 246 will be available, as well as a family-friendly ranger program chronicling some comedic mishaps of the Lewis and Clark expedition. The Fort Columbia Interpretive Center and Commanding Officer’s Quarters House Museum will both be open for self-guided tours. 

Schedule:

11:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Lewis and Clark Ranger Program

12:00 PM – 12:45 PM: Skamokawa Swamp Opera

12:45 – 1:00 PM: 15-minute performance break

1:00 PM – 1:45 PM: Skamokawa Swamp Opera Second Set

*Guided tours of Battery 246 are provided on an ongoing basis throughout the event. Tour sign-ups are at the entry doors to Battery 246.

No seating is provided for the concerts, so please bring your own chairs.

The event is located at Fort Columbia State Park. If you are headed east on highway 101, the entrance to the state park is just after you pass through the town of Chinook, right before you enter the tunnel. If you are headed west on highway 101, the entrance to the state park is just after you pass the Station Camp site and the turn is immediately after you exit the tunnel. The live music will be on the front porch of the Fort Columbia Interpretive Center, also known as the Barracks.
