Join us as we light up the sky just as the sunsets on Fort Flagler!

Fort Flagler’s restored WWII searchlight is seasonally displayed next to the park office. Because of its historical nature, it is illuminated only a few times each year, making this a rare opportunity to see it in action. We will briefly explain how searchlights were used by the Coast Artillery Corps and how the mechanism functions, then turn the beam skyward and watch it cut across the night.

Directions

When entering the park, continue straight to the 4-way stop. Keep going straight, then park in the first parking lot on your right (in front of the museum). The searchlight is in the field across the street, next to the park office. Discover Passes are required for parking.
