Celebrate Museum Day at Fort Worden's Commanding Officer's Quarters! Step through time to the early 20th century and experience the comfortable and extravagant lives of officer's and their families.

Museum Day was established by the Washington Museum Association and the Washington State Historical Society. It is celebrated at museums across the state in an effort to engage communities in history, arts, and cultural experiences.

The Commanding Officer's Quarters Museum is a staged house museum that reflects what life was like for officer's and their families during the early 1900s. We have scavenger hunts for kids and adults, a selfie station on the third floor, and games from the early 20th century.

The museum is always free for all! Discover Passes are required to park vehicles in State Parks; however, passes are available to check out via the library system, and it is free to enter the park via public transportation, walking, or biking.

*Note: Due to the historic nature of the home, it is not accessible by wheelchair. There are stairs to enter the home and two flights of stairs inside the home.

When entering the park, turn right just before the tennis courts onto Pershing Ave. The Commanding Officer's Quarters is the last home on the right. Parking is available on the far side of the home or behind the home (not out front).

Directions for purchasing a Discover Pass. When entering the park, continue straight. Just past the tennis courts on the right is a pull off lane with a bulletin board and automated kiosk. Day passes and annual passes may be purchased here to display in your vehicle. From there, re-enter traffic and take a right at the stop sign. Follow the road along the parade grounds, turning right at the end of the road to continue along the parade grounds. The Commanding Officer's Quarters will then be straight ahead. Park along the far end of the parade grounds, side of the house, or behind the house.
