Junior Ranger Program - Deception Pass

Join staff in fun, family friendly explorations of Deception Pass State Park’s amazing wildlife and unique collection of forest and marine habitats. Programs last 30 minutes and are designed for ages 4 to 12, though all are welcome. Children attending Junior Ranger Programs must be accompanied by an adult.

Topics will vary depending on the day. Check-in at the Welcome Booth when you arrive to learn more.

Upon entering the main entrance of the park drive past the Welcome Booth. Follow the park road until a 3-way intersection. At the intersection, turn left, and follow down the hill towards West Beach. At the stop sign continue straight. Upon entering the entering the West Beach parking lot, turn right and follow the signs to the amphitheater. 

 

The amphitheater can also be accessed by walking through the Cranberry Lake campground's lower forest loops.

Come hangout with staff between 7:00-9:00pm or sunset at the amphitheater. Play yards games, complete crafts, or enjoy s’mores.

Spend your Saturday morning exploring Deception Pass State Park and discover some of the common, and not so common, species of birds that call the park home. The walks are an hour long and are a great opportunity for birders of all levels. Practice bird identification skills, explore unique bird habitats, and learn from other birders.
