The Junior Ranger programs at Washington State Parks offer an exciting adventure for kids aged 4 to 12, combining fun and learning as they dive into the wonders of nature and history.

Through hands on activities and ranger talks, young explorers get to uncover the secrets of parks and historical sites. The programs each week are different, so you can keep coming back! See the program flyer for more information.

By completing the necessary number of pages in the workbook, kids will earn an official Junior Ranger badge! At the end of the ranger talk, a badge ceremony will take place for those who have finished their booklet. These programs aim to spark a lifelong love for conservation and cultural appreciation in the next generation.

The location of Jr. Ranger programs varies from week to week.

They will either be held at the new Amphitheater in the Upper Campground or at Battery Bankhead which is located along Campground Rd.

Directions to the Amphitheater: When entering the park continue straight to the 4-way stop. At the intersection, take a left onto Campground Rd. Note: Day-use visitors should continue straight, past the entrance to the Upper Campground, and park in the grassy lot by the boat launch. Follow the hiking trail back up to the campground and continue straight on the paved hiking path until you reach the Amphitheater.

For accessibility, visitors may be dropped off at the paved trailhead next to site 15 in the Upper Campground and may temporarily use overflow parking in the campground to attend programs.
