Stop by the Civilian Conservation Corps Interpretive Center for a short 15-minute interpretive talk about the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Travel back in time and discover how a group of young men changed the landscape of the park in the early 1900s and shaped the recreational opportunities we enjoy today.

Afterwards, explore the exhibits within the Civilian Conservation Corps Interpretive Center. View historic artifacts and read firsthand accounts from enrollees from across the state. The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: Civilian Conservation Corps Interpretive Center, Bowman Bay, Deception Pass State Park

  • From State Route 20, turn on to Rosario Road. 
  • Make an immediate left turn to follow road down the hill. 
  • At stop sign, go straight to park in the upper lot. 
  • From parking lot look towards water. There are a series of small stone buildings located near the water. These buildings are the Civilian Conservation Corps Interpretive Center. Please note, the buildings to the right and left are picnic shelters. 
  • Staff will be near the entrance of the center.
