BioBlitz: Forest to Sea

There are currently no future events scheduled.
Help us document the wild at Fort Worden State Park!

The event officially begins as soon as the park opens at 6:30am (PST) and ends when the park closes at 9:45pm (PST). Bring a camera or smart phone to take pictures of plants, wildlife, and other organisms that live in the park. Join us at the Kitchen Shelter from 10:00am to 4:00pm for an in-person celebration of citizen science and stewardship! Visit informational booths at the shelter with specialists from various biological fields like Port Townsend Marine Science Center, Audubon, Kitsap Peninsula Mycology Society, and more. Park Rangers and the Friends of Fort Worden will provide guidance on using iNaturalist, park rules, orientation, and current conservation efforts.

It is important to stay on designated trails while visiting the area to ensure safety and protect the environment. By following these guidelines, you are not only protecting yourself and other visitors but also preserving the habitats of countless plants, fungi, and animals. To ensure you don't get lost, download a copy of the trail map or pick one up from the park office. https://parks.wa.gov/sites/default/files/2023-10/8.5x11_Ft.%20Worden%20Trails.pdf
