Thursday, September 18th: 10AM-3PM – Columbia Plateau Trail – Amber Lake Trailhead – Install Bench and Trail Maintenance

When: Thursday, September 18th: 10AM-3PM

Where: Amber LakeTrailhead – Columbia Plateau Trail

Overview: The 130-mile Columbia Plateau State Park Trail starts southwest of Spokane. Built on an abandoned railbed, the trail follows the Snake River south, ending near Pasco. We will be completing trail maintenance during this work party as well as installing a new bench alongside the trail.

Project Description: The main priority for this work party is to install 2 new benches. This will include removing the current benches, digging holes, mixing concrete. If we have extra volunteers, we will also focus on cutting back encroaching vegetation along the trail. We are hoping to gain up to 5 volunteers to help with this project.

Hiking Information: No hiking. After our safety briefing at the trailhead, we will load up in State Park vehicles to cruise down the trail to the worksites.

Planning Information:

  • No experience is necessary; we will provide the training and tools you need.
  • Expect to be physically active at your own pace for up to 5 hours on uneven terrain.
  • Please be on time and plan to stay for the entire duration of the event.
  • Recommended for ages 10 and older; under 14 must be accompanied by an adult and a parental consent form must be signed for anyone under 18.
  • We are unable to sign off on court mandated community service.
