The Seminary at Saint Edward State Park where the Saint Edward Lodge can be found. The building is very long with a center building that appears to be 2 floors higher than the rest of the building. There is also a bell tower that reaches above the tallest part of the building. The lawn area of the seminary is also visible with bright green grass and well manicured hedges,

Saint Edward State Park's iconic Seminary and surrounding landscape has undergone a lot of change since it was first constructed. Join our Ranger to learn more about the fascinating history of this park treasure and how adaptive reuse helps keep history alive today! All ages welcome, may be best for youth 12 and older. 

Meet at the Chef's Garden Patio (formerly the Carol Ann Wald Memorial Patio) and sit at one of the available chairs, benches, or picnic tables! Patio is accessed via a short gravel path, about 75 feet, from the paved path from the Lodge Valet to the Playground. Look for signs directing you to the Interpretive Program!

Saint Edward First Day Hike

There will be 2 guided hikes:
Moderate hike of almost 2 miles with variation in elevation; estimated time to complete the hike is 1 hour. Hiking poles would be helpful in some places due to steepness of the trail.
Easier hike on shorter, flatter route of 1.4 miles OR guided history-focused walk along Perimeter trail depending on trail conditions that day.
