Wildfire season is here and impacting several parks, so make sure you’re in the know before you go. Before you head to a park, please check its page or head to our alerts page for closures, alerts and other important information to make sure you have a fun, safe and informed trip.

Please note: A Burn Ban is in effect at all Washington State Parks and Properties at all times. Most camping parks are at a Burn Ban Level 1 or higher year-round. Most day-use only parks are designated No Fires Permitted at Any Time, unless they are equipped with fire rings or braziers.

Burn Ban Level 1
- Fires allowed in all designated fire pits and grills.
- Propane and gas grills allowed.
Burn Ban Level 2
- Wood fires restricted to fire pits in designated areas.
- Gas and propane allowed.
- Charcoal may be restricted.
Burn Ban Level 3
- Gas/propane self-contained camping stoves and portable gas/propane fire pits allowed.
- No charcoal or wood fires allowed.
Burn Ban Level 4
- No open flames of any type. Internal RV stoves OK.
- No smoking allowed.
- Trails and undeveloped areas may be closed to entry.
No Fires at Any Time
- No fires permitted at any time of year.

Part of the Park is Closed
Cape Disappointment camping and several day-use areas are scheduled to close Sept. 16, 2025 until late spring 2026 while the park undergoes major renovations. Camping reservations are unavailable for that time period. Please see our project page for more information and to plan your day trips accordingly.

Due to recent wildfire damage, a portion of the Rex Derr Trail is closed until further notice. For your safety, do not enter the closed portion of trail.

There are a number of projects in development in the campground area of the park, some resulting from flooding and erosion impacts. While the campground is closed, we are taking this opportunity to reevaluate camping within the park. We will have more information available as this work progresses.
