Please note: A Burn Ban is in effect at all Washington State Parks and Properties at all times. Most camping parks are at a Burn Ban Level 1 or higher year-round. Most day-use only parks are designated No Fires Permitted at Any Time, unless they are equipped with fire rings or braziers. 

Burn Ban Levels

Burn Ban Level 1

  • Fires allowed in all designated fire pits and grills.
  • Propane and gas grills allowed.

Burn Ban Level 2

  • Wood fires restricted to fire pits in designated areas.
  • Gas and propane allowed.
  • Charcoal may be restricted.

Burn Ban Level 3

  • Gas/propane self-contained camping stoves and portable gas/propane fire pits allowed.
  • No charcoal or wood fires allowed.

Burn Ban Level 4

  • No open flames of any type. Internal RV stoves OK.
  • No smoking allowed.
  • Trails and undeveloped areas may be closed to entry.

No Fires at Any Time

  • No fires permitted at any time of year.

Cape Disappointment camping and several day-use areas are expected to close Sept. 16, 2025 until at least April 30, 2026, when the park will undergo major construction. Camping reservations are unavailable for that time period. Please see our project page for more information.

The long dock at Jarrell Cove will be closed for repairs with no public access August 12 - 28, 2025. The north (inside) side of the Jarrell cove long dock will be without power until further notice due to cable age and wear.

The Swale Canyon portion of the Klickitat Trail will be closed for fire danger from June 21 through October 8 every season.

Mystery Bay State Park will be closed due to pier renovations from July 14th to August 20th. The park will be accessible by boat only. If you were planning to come for the day, please visit Fort Flagler State Park for beach and boat launch access.

Effective May 12, 2025, technical rock climbing on all routes on the Deception Wall at Deception Crags (I-90 Exit 38) are temporarily closed for the protection of climbers and wildlife due to Peregrine Falcons nesting in the area. The approximate date for reopening is August 15th. Climbing routes at Substation, Write-Off Rock, Nevermind Wall, We Did Rock, and Hall Creek Rock are unaffected by this closure and remain open.

 The day-use restroom is closed for repairs. Portable toilets are available for use.

There are a number of projects in development in the campground area of the park, some resulting from flooding and erosion impacts. While the campground is closed, we are taking this opportunity to reevaluate camping within the park. We will have more information available as this work progresses.
