Junior Ranger Program - Deception Pass

Deception Pass State Park

Join staff in fun, family friendly explorations of Deception Pass State Park’s amazing wildlife and unique collection of forest and marine habitats. Programs last 30 minutes and are designed for ages 4 to 12, though all are welcome. Children attending Junior Ranger Programs must be accompanied by an adult.

Stop by the amphitheater before the Evening Program to complete a fun theme-based craft or activity. Pick up a Junior Ranger Booklet or turn in a completed one for a badge. Staff will start packing up materials at 6:55pm to prepare for the Evening Program.

Join staff to explore Deception Pass State Park as the sunsets. Explore natural phenomenon only experienced with the setting sun or in the dark. Discover the park come to life as nocturnal animals become active. Walk locations and topics are subject to change based on the time of sunset. Walks are 45 minutes in length and include various terrain.

Nature Nonsense at Sacajawea Historical State Park

Come on out to Sacajawea Historical State Park to learn about some “Nansense” (nature nonsense with Ranger Nan)! Each week has a different topic, but we will always begin with storytime with Ranger Nan, followed by an activity and/or craft! This program is recommended for kids aged 4-8, but all are welcome! Volunteer Event - Mount Spokane - Trail Maintenance

Mount Spokane State Park

Join us Friday, July 18th from 9:30AM-2:30PM for a variety of trail tasks to be completed around the newly acquired State Park property around the old Bear Creek Lodge on Mt. Spokane. 

Trail Maintenance Tasks:
-Trail brushing along Winter Snow Mobile trails 
-Remove old trail staircase
-Sand/Stain Staircase railing
-Drag trees to create burn/wood chipper piles
