Be a BARK Ranger

Washington state parks are exciting places for pets to visit with their family while on vacation. Sometimes these new places can be so exciting they are overstimulating to your pet. We want you to have a positive experience with your pet in unfamiliar environments. Learn the BARK principles so you and your pet can have a safe and fun visit anytime you go to a Washington state park. BARK stands for:

  • Bag your pet’s waste
  • Always leash your pet
  • Respect wildlife
  • Know where you can go

If a park staff sees you and your pet abiding by the rules, being respectful of other park visitors and cleaning up after your pet, you can be rewarded with a BARK Ranger dog tag to proudly put on your pet’s collar.
