Directions & Maps

North of Newport. Highway 2 east across the Pend Oreille River. Immediately turn north at the end of the bridge onto Le Clerc Road (County Road 9305), 7.5 miles to Indian Creek Road (Co Rd 3029) east. Go 1.5 miles to trail head.

1/18/24: Groomed and Nordic track set on the 6-8” fresh light snow on all routes except Perspiration from Rough Ridge to Little Sweat Junctions do to fence replacement along the Geophysical Observatory boundary. Warmer temperatures with the possibility of a rain/snow mix are expected starting Saturday that may help preserve the current tracks. Be aware of wildlife in the area and wear layers.
