This quiet park offers a picnic table near a stone monument erected in 1914 by the Esther Reed Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. This monument commemorates the 1858 battle where Steptoe's troops made their final stand. Interpretive panels tell the story of the battle and escape of the U.S. Army soldiers.
