Alta Lake State Park is a camping and day-use park where mountainous pine forests meet the desert. The 2-mile long lake offers trout fishing, water skiing and windsurfing during the summer months.

Alta Lake offers a wide variety of family friendly activities including fishing, swimming, hiking, volleyball, horseshoe pits and picnicking. Spring months bring a wide variety of wildflowers to enjoy as well as birdwatching. It's not uncommon to see black bear on the outskirts of the lake and other wildlife areas near the park.

Standard and partial-hookup sites, as well as two group sites, are available; maximum site length is 38 feet.

Food, grocery, firewood and kayak rentals
Concessions on the Lake has what you need to enjoy a day at the park! They offer a variety of snacks and beverages including grilled items, ice cream, and espresso. In addition, they also offer camping and grocery items, firewood, and bagged ice. If you are looking for a little adventure, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards are available for rent. Concessions on the Lake will be open for weekends only April through May, and daily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Hours are 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday - Thurs. and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fri. - Sun.
