Join us on a ranger-led, family-friendly, one-mile hike along the Cold Spring Trail across from Cascade Lake. On this leisurely hike, you will gaze up at a neighborhood of old-growth trees and learn how they support each other, along with wildlife, ranging from owls to salmon. This hike has a steady incline but is relatively level. We will walk at a leisurely pace with about five stops.
Did you know trees borrow sugar from their neighbors? Through elaborate root structures and chemical signals, trees communicate with each other and the livings things around them. Learn about this and more, as we consider ways we can better protect trees that give us the gift of life.
