Embark on an enchanted journey through the twisting forest of Fort Townsend State Park, where visitors of all ages can take part in magical activities and uncover the hidden secrets of the forest as they prepare for their adventure.

Join us for the grand opening of the new temporary interpretive trail at Fort Townsend State Park, created in collaboration with the Friends of Fort Townsend.

Step into a magical journey through an enchanted forest! Along the 1.2-mile loop—starting in the campground and winding back to the day-use area—you’ll discover the unique plants and creatures that call this diverse forest home. From towering trees to tiny critters, there’s magic to be found in every corner!

Before you set off, stop by our booth for fun, magically themed activities to help prepare you for your adventure. For those who prefer to explore from afar, printed copies of the new interpretive signs will be available to browse without hiking the trail.

When entering the park, continue straight and follow the road to the day-use area. At the Welcome Station, you can either purchase a Discover Pass or turn left to park in the day-use parking lot. The booth will be set up in the field next to the bulletin board.
