The Parks headquarters Information Center is moving from its current location in Tumwater to the Department of Ecology building at 300 Desmond Drive SE in Lacey. Our customer service team is located at the front desk, just inside the main entrance.
Cape Disappointment First Day Hike

The tides and currents of the Pacific Ocean have shaped the Long Beach peninsula both literally and figuratively as they have changed our physical and cultural landscapes over time. From erosion, to Dungeness crabs, to shipwrecks, we'll talk about the ever present give and take we find ourselves in, and how we can learn to look closer and start to think about what washes up on our shores. This hike will begin at the Seaview beach approach at 10:00 AM. It will be 1-1.5 miles roundtrip as we head down the beach and then back. Refreshments and treats will be available back at the approach when we return from the hike.

Are leashed dogs allowed? Yes
Restrictions: Event may be ADA/Stroller accessible, flat grade throughout, but we are on a beach, so sand is an issue.

Things to bring: Water, warm clothing, shoes that are comfortable and sturdy for walking on sand
Cancellation Information: If event is cancelled. Staff will be out at the beach approach informing folks of the cancellation and why.
