Walk with a Ranger - Frenchman Hills Trail Loop, Potholes State Park
No registration is required—everyone is welcome.
Just bring your day-hiking gear suited for cooler weather, along with your sense of curiosity and adventure.
Come enjoy good company, stunning scenery, and a refreshing start to December in one of Washington’s most remarkable state parks.
Remember to bring a valid Discover Pass or Day Pass and display on your vehicle. Your local library has Discover Passes to borrow if needed. Check Out Washington - Washington State Parks Foundation
Discover Passes and Day Passes may also be purchase at the Potholes State Park office or day-use area.
This easy hike is less than 3 miles and offers a great chance to learn about the unique ecosystem and geology that shape our area.
As we wander through the trees, keep your ears open—you might just hear (or spot!) a certain feathered resident known for its hoots.
Be sure to come prepared for a cool-weather day hike: bring a warm drink, layered clothing, and some snacks to keep you comfortable along the way.
