Junior Ranger Program (Deception Pass)

Join staff in fun, family friendly explorations of Deception Pass State Park’s amazing wildlife and unique collection of forest and marine habitats.

Programs last 30-minutes and are designed for ages 4 to 12, though all are welcome. Children attending Junior Ranger Programs must be accompanied by an adult.

Location: Amphitheater, Deception Pass State Park

Vehicle access to the amphitheater may be limited due to winter storm damage. For more information and updates on the closure, please visit the West Beach Parking Area Damage project page.  

The amphitheater can be accessed by walking from the Cranberry Lake campground or East Cranberry parking lot. To request an accessible option, please contact park staff at DeceptionPass.Interpreter@parks.wa.gov. Requests must be made 24 hours in advance.

  • From HWY 20 enter the main park entrance. This entrance is located south of the bridge on Whidbey Island. 
  • Follow the road and take the second left to park at the East Cranberry parking lot. 
  • From East Cranberry parking lot, it is a one mile walk to the amphitheater. 

Campers are invited to walk directly from their campsite. The amphitheater is located between the Cranberry Lake Campground and West Beach.
