Civilian Conservation Corp Chats (Deception Pass)

Stop by the Civilian Conservation Corps Interpretive Center for a short 15-minute interpretive talk about the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Travel back in time and discover how a group of young men changed the landscape of the park in the early 1900s and shaped the recreational opportunities we enjoy today.
Afterwards, explore the exhibits within the Civilian Conservation Corps Interpretive Center. View historic artifacts and read firsthand accounts from enrollees from across the state. The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Family in Nature - Deception Pass
Family in Nature is a fun and highly interactive, nature-based program designed for children ages 2 to 5 years old. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes and focuses on various aspects of nature found in the park. The programs include story time, creative play, parent-led activities and crafts. Our goal is to create a warm and welcoming space where you and your little ones can enjoy the wonders of Deception Pass together.

Guided Hike: Shifting Shorelines - Deception Pass
Beaches will be beaches, and shorelines are a-shifting! Join staff on Saturday afternoons in April to explore the sand dunes at West Beach and how they have and will continue to change overtime. This hike is 0.5 miles and follows a flat paved trail. The hike is expected to take 1 hour. This hike is not stroller accessible or ADA.

Ranger Hour - Busy Bee Pollination Party
Washington State Parks is returning to the Oak Harbor Library for the third year for a fun program series called Ranger Hour!Join staff from Deception Pass State Park once a month to learn about parks, wildlife, native plants, and more! Play games, be creative, and discover the natural world in our own community. All ages welcome. Adult caretakers must be present for the duration of the entire program. Programs are scheduled for 60 minutes.
