Water Closure
All water activities are closed due to high water toxin levels. Do not recreate in or around the water.
Anderson Lake is known for algae blooms that can close fishing and water recreation on the lake. Exposure to the toxins in the water can cause serious illness or death to people and pets.
Notification
Water spigots near campsites 30-77 and cabins 1-4 may experience periodic shut offs due to restroom construction. The closest available working water spigot is near campsite 14. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Construction
Please be advised that demolition on the cabin and group camp restroom will begin May 5th. The restroom will be unavailable due to construction through the end of July – this timeline may be revised; we will update the alert as we are able. The back loop restroom and showers will be operational during this time. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The Brooks Memorial Group Camp will be without running water due to underground water leakage and the need for repairs. The water will be turned off for the 2025 camping season. Potable water will be available at the dump station in the day use area, and group campers may utilize it.

Notification
The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission voted to keep the cabins at the park permanently closed where they currently sit. This was a difficult decision following an involved public process. Long-term planning, underway now through 2026, will evaluate the future of the park and other options for overnight accommodation. Day use in the park remains open, as does the Cama Center and café. Restrooms are not available in the lower beach area but are available in other parts of the park.

West Beach parking lot is at a reduced capacity. Boat trailers, RV's and towed campers over 25 feet, are not permitted in the West Beach parking lot.
Boating and Moorage
The boat ramp at Bowan Bay is no longer available for launching any boat that requires a trailer to launch. Kayakers can still hand launch any kayak. Additionally, there is no longer any boat trailer parking available at Bowman Bay and parallel parking will not be allowed.

There will be construction at Lake Sammamish State Park Boat Launch. This work starts on July 14,2025 and ends on July 31,2025. The permitted "in-water" work will begin July 16th. Work will occur Monday through Thursday. Expect up to two lanes being closed per day with intermittent traffic delays within the launch area. Repairs will allow for continued safe use by visitors.

Mystery Bay State Park will be completely closed due to pier renovations from July 14th to August 20th. If you were planning to come for the day, please visit one of our other parks. The next closest park with a beach and boat launch is Fort Flagler State Park.
Boating and Moorage
The pier at Mystery Bay State Park will remain closed until further notice. During a routine inspection, it was discovered that the pier may not be safe for public access. The buoys, boat launch, and moorage docks remain open. The marine pumpout station remains open seasonally April through October.

Construction
There is construction at the Kittitas Depot. This work starts on March 5, 2025, and ends on July 31, 2025. The work includes renovation of the existing depot. Part of the Kittitas trailhead will be closed. Parking will still be available on the east side of the trailhead. A detour will be in place between Railroad Ave. to Main St.

Restoration in progress! Starting Monday, April 28th crews will begin working on restoring the riparian habitat along the Skagit River. Visitors can expect noise from tractors and mowers in the field area and along the river trails. Beach and trail access will not be affected. Visitors, please use caution around the large equipment.
This restoration project includes removing invasive vegetation as well as planting native species that will help benefit the salmon and other creatures that share the park!

Update on July 8: The area of Riverside State Park between the Morin Trailhead and the Wilbur Trailhead remains closed this week as firefighters continue work in the area. The campground at the Equestrian Area will remain closed at least until Thursday. The campground at the Bowl and Pitcher has re-opened. We are asking people to stay out of the closed area of the park to allow the fire crews to continue their work.
We will update this alert as conditions change.
Water Closure
The Nine Mile Recreation Area swimming area will be closed July 15 - July 19 for the application of pesticides on Lake Spokane to control milfoil and other invasive aquatic species.

Construction will begin on the new Knothead Valley Trailhead and Parking Area in April. During the construction process, the Knothead Loop Trail will be periodically closed in the construction area and hikers may not be able to complete the loop. Learn more here.

Part of the Park is Closed
Update on July 8: The Centennial Trail remains closed between the Morin Trailhead and the Wilbur Trailhead as crews continue work mopping up the scene and addressing flare-ups. Please stay out of these areas as firefighting equipment is moving up and down the trail.
This closure will be in place until the firefighters have completed their work.

Construction
Beginning in mid-July, the Centennial Trail between Superior Street and Mission Park will be closed for utility work. A detour will be in place through Mission Park and along Superior Street. The City of Spokane will be replacing a sewer line under the Centennial Trail in this area. The work is scheduled to be complete by mid-September. There is ongoing construction along the Levy trail. This is a long-term ecosystem restoration project conducted by the federal government, scheduled until late 2027. The work includes large equipment driving up and down the Levy trail. Expect extra noise near areas along the Levy trail and campsites 17 - 36.
