Water Closure
All water activities are closed due to high water toxin levels. Do not recreate in or around the water.
Anderson Lake is known for algae blooms that can close fishing and water recreation on the lake. Exposure to the toxins in the water can cause serious illness or death to people and pets.

First ¼ mile of the Hamilton Mountain Trail is closed due to a landslide. Access to the Hamilton Mountain Trail is available via the Hadley Trailhead. Please park at the Hamilton Mountain Trailhead and hike up the campground roadway to the Hadley Trailhead as parking is very limited at the Hadley Trailhead.

The South side of Beacon Rock is closed for rock climbing due to Peregrine falcon nesting season (the hiking trail is open). This is to prevent disturbance and support survival of the species.

Exciting news: We have officially taken over management of campground and day-use shelter bookings for Beebe Bridge State Park — make your reservations now! Bookings are open for the 2026 season, which runs April 15 to Oct. 15. Make your reservations online at washington.goingtocamp.com or by calling 1-888-CAMP-OUT. Campers can book reservations up to nine months in advance of their stay, so you can begin booking sites for the 2027 season in July.

Brooks Memorial campground will be opening on May 15th this year to accommodate various park improvement projects. Day use, group camp, the Learning Center and trails will be open as usual on 4/16/2026.

For your safety, the lower part of Cama Beach Historical State Park, is currently closed. The closure area begins at the Cama Beach Café and includes all road and trail access down to the beach as well as the full length of the historic beach—please do not attempt to access the closure area.
The Cama Beach Café is still accessible, and service will not be affected by this closure.
A portion of the aging sea wall has separated and fallen due to ongoing impacts from king tides, severe weather and winds. Staff are continuing to monitor the situation and are actively working to stabilize the remaining wall.
Construction
Due to our ongoing park construction, the spring opening of reservations for Cape Disappointment’s sites 7-10, 21-25 and 101-110 in Loops A and B is delayed until May 1 for stays beginning July 1, construction and weather conditions permitting. Thank you for your patience as we complete park improvements!

Cape Disappointment camping is closed entirely until late spring 2026 while the park undergoes major renovations.
Access to Waikiki Beach and the North Jetty is not available until the end of construction. Starting March 2, the boat launch will also be unavailable. It will reopen after completion of a brand new trail in the Three Waters system.
The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, North Head Lighthouse area, Beard's Hollow, will remain open during this closure. Please feel free to contact the park if you have questions.

Mushroom collection is closed in one section of Cape Disappointment State Park. Please check the map for closure details before collecting. Shaded area indicates section closed to mushroom collection.

Climbers, please be aware that the following 2026 dates Horsethief Butte may be congested due to climbing groups in the area. We suggest you plan to visit during the week when the area is less congested. We will continue to update throughout the season: March 21- 22 & 28 - 29, April 8, 10 - 12, 18 - 19, & 24 - 26, May 3, 10 & 16, June 12-13, & 20, July 10-11, & 19, Aug 5, 8, & 9, Oct 17.

The main sledding hill at Fields Spring State Park is closed until further notice, due to insufficient snowfall and higher than normal temperatures this season. The park currently lacks the adequate recreational snowpack base for use of the primary sledding hill. The second “kiddie hill” for sledding is open, but not ideal with existing snow conditions. The rest of the park remains open for use.

Beach Road, after the Ranger Station, will be closed all day on Monday, April 13, 2026 due to road and pothole repair work being done.

Construction
There is construction at the entrance of the park. This work started at the end of May 2025 and will last through June 2026. The work includes construction of a new Welcome Center, bathrooms, and improved roadways. Expect construction noise and occasional stopping of traffic at the park entrance.

Grayland Beach State Park experiences seasonal flooding each year from November 1 through April 15 due to periods of heavy rainfall. During this time, flooding may impact a number of campsites and park amenities. South Campground open to 1st come, 1st served camping
The South Campground is open with a limited number of sites available. The North Campground is still closed due to lingering snow and is expected to reopen around May 1. Until May 7, all campsites throughout the area are offered on a first come, first served basis.
Because the roads in the South Campground are narrow, RVs and trailers longer than 20 feet cannot be accommodated, and water and electric RV hookups are not available. Exterior water remains turned off throughout the campground, but restroom facilities are open.
Payment is by cash/check at the campground bulletin board. $23/night and $10/night for any extra vehicle until April 1st when fees change.
Construction
Department of Natural Resources will be working on a logging project starting on March 1st, 2026 through June 15th, 2026 on Mondays - Friday's. Logging access will be through Lost Lake parking lot, Fragrance Lake road, and Burnout Road (DNR). Expect lost lake parking lot to be impacted, heavy equipment operation, loud noises and possible trail closures.

The access road to the Mount Pilchuck trailhead is closed for the off-season winter months past the Heather Lake Trailhead. Park visitors can still park at Heather Lake Trailhead and make the additional 6-mile hike to the Mount Pilchuck Trailhead. Opening and closing dates are not set, but you can inquire with the Verlot Public Service Center within the Darrington Ranger District for further details.

Nisqually State Park is closed until further notice while ongoing construction occurs. For your safety, and the safety of our construction workers, please do not visit the park during this closure. For any questions or concerns, please reach out to Nisqually@parks.wa.gov.

During the summer season of 2026, we will be undergoing extensive culvert replacements throughout the park from July 15 through September 30. Expect heavy equipment noise and traffic impacts, including single lane alternating traffic.

Technical rock climbing on all routes on Deception Wall at Deception Crags are temporarily closed for the protection of Peregrine Falcon nesting. The approximate date for reopening is July 15. This will be an annual closure. If nesting does not occur, the closure will be lifted. If nesting occurs and fledging is late, the closure may be extended. View the closure notice with an image of the closed wall.
Climbing at Substation, Write-Off Rock, Nevermind Wall, We Did Rock, and Hull Creek Rock are unaffected by this closure and remain open.

Emergency Closure - Update (3/23/26): The PTC will be closed near Lake Easton between Monahan Rd and Stampede Pass Rd due to a landslide. The landslide has damaged the nearby railroad and large power lines. There is a large presence of heavy equipment near Easton and Stampede Pass. Please be cautious if you are coming through the area. Snow is still present on the trail, making access difficult. There is no estimation on reopening.
Lower Peoh Rd to Taneum Rd: Use caution. There are locations with fallen debris on the sides of the trail. Falling rocks and material on the trail may be encountered. Maintenance equipment may be active on the trail grade.
Non-urgent: The Snoqualmie Tunnel at Hyak is closed for the winter season. The Roaring Creek, Cold Creek, and Whittier backcountry restrooms are closed for the winter season. All will reopen in the spring when the snow melts.

There is significant, unpassable trail damage and unstable conditions caused by storms with no road or trail detour options available at this time. During the Vantage Bridge construction project, WSDOT is redirecting bicycles from I-90, both directions, to take the Beverly Bridge detour. The detour signs on the Palouse to Cascades Trail are only for the I-90 detour. The trail is open through the Yakima Training Center.

Twanoh does not have trash service in day-use areas. Pack it in, pack it out! That includes food scraps, wrappers and recyclables. Additionally, please unbox and recycle new gear and gadgets at home – packaging is one of the biggest contributors to in-park litter. There is ongoing construction along the Levy Trail. This is a long-term ecosystem restoration project conducted by the federal government and is scheduled until late 2027. The work includes large equipment driving up and down the Levy Trail. Expect extra noise near areas along the Levy Trail and campsites 17 - 36.
