Today's social media applications enable an individual or organization to promote a community's assets beyond the traditional communications capabilities - the ability to reach important audiences directly and immediately with fresh information. Perhaps the most valuable feature of social media is that it creates two-way communication to build relationships. Should state parks employees be given the ability to use tools like Twitter to help raise public awareness about what is going on in the Parks?

The Parks Commission hosts various public meetings around the state. Can they be shared live online via tools like Google's "Hangout". Could questions or remarks be submitted either ahead of time ......
