OLYMPIA – July 27, 2017 – The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission has teamed up with professional football player Luke Willson to promote the diverse landscapes and activities of Washington’s beautiful state parks.
Each week, State Parks will post a question about a state park on the Washington State Parks Facebook page and Twitter feed. People will be invited to submit the correct answer by text message for a chance to win autographed items from Willson. Each week, one winner will be selected from the winning responses. Participants are encouraged to find answers to the questions on the State Parks website.
Luke Willson (#82 tight end), a well-known Seattle football player, is an outdoor enthusiast well-suited to be a spokesperson for the state parks awareness campaign. Ever since moving to Washington, Willson says he has developed a deep passion for the state’s natural beauty, through activities such as hiking, fishing, boating and swimming.
“I’m excited about the outdoor options available here in Washington’s state parks and other natural areas, and I want to share that excitement and encourage others get out and enjoy the outdoors,” Willson said.
The six-week campaign kicks off July 31. Drawings will be held Aug. 7, 14, 21, 28 and Sept. 4 and 11.
