The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission staff will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday October 25, at 6 PM, at the Nine Mile Falls Elementary School gym, 10102 W Charles Rd, Nine Mile Falls, WA 99026. The purpose of the public hearing is to take testimony for the record pertaining to a proposed land transfer of approximately 2.9 acres in size to the Nine Mile Falls School District. The property is a portion of Sontag Park, located on West Charles Rd east of Nine Mile Falls Elementary School, more specifically described as the SE ¼ AND NE ¼, SECTION 6, TWP 26 NORTH, RANGE 42 E. W.M., Spokane County, WA.
State Parks is seeking public input on the proposed transfer before it is considered by the Commission. The public testimony is expected to be presented to the Commission for their consideration at their regularly scheduled meeting being held in Chelan, WA on November 17, 2022. The Commission will be asked to transfer the property to Nine Mile Falls School District to expand their grounds and provide additional school programming.
