Willapa Hills State Park Trail SR6 Crossing

SR 6 project area

Construction of the Willapa Hills Trail State Route 6 crossing begins May 2021. The project will close the trail for approximately one year to allow for construction of a new bridge to improve safety for trail users and motorists on SR 6. There are no detours available for trail users at the construction site. The purpose of the project is to separate vehicles traveling on SR 6 from visitors using the Willapa Hills Trail. Two ramps will also be constructed to provide a 5% slope. Completion of this bridge in 2022 will provide continuous trail for 28 miles, reaching well into Pacific County. Please see the Presentation Rendering 2-7-19 below for images that show the future overpass.
