The Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia State Parks
play host to a traditional salmon bake in October and an annual yule log event in December. The park also offers summer lectures, musical performances and other events every year.
A recreational license is required for fishing and shellfish harvesting at Washington state parks. For regulations, fishing season information or to purchase a recreational license, visit the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife website.

|Bringing in the Yule Log and Christmas Sing-A-Long: Children will hunt for a special log in the park and everyone will join together to pull it back to the fire in the community hall.
This will be followed by hot beverages, cookies, a warm fire and Christmas music. This annual event, to bring in the Christmas season, is sponsored by the Friends of Schafer Lake Sylvia and Schafer State Park. Everyone is welcome.
