Enjoy a festival, join a fun run, tour an interpretive site, or just make your own celebration with a family picnic or camping trip. Choose from dozens of activities and events throughout the year. You can submit your state park event via email to get it placed on the calendar. The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and state-managed recreation lands. Cama Beach State Park

  1. Toy Boat Building

    July 5, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Cama Beach State Park

    Children can build and decorate their own wooden toy boat at the historic boat house. This program is part of the activities provided by the Center for Wooden Boats.

  2. Free Park Bus Tours: Between Cama Beach and Camano Island State Parks

    July 5, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

    Free bus tour of the two State Park. Guests can travel between the two parks, see the sights in both parks, walk the trails, visit the store, rent a boat, eat at the Café and hear some fun and educational information from the knowledgeable volunteer driver.

  3. Crafts

    July 5, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

    Crafts: The Parks Interpretive Specialist (and friends) help children (and adults) create all sorts of interesting handmade items. The type of craft varies each day so come back often. Meet at the driveway just north of the Cama Beach Store.

    Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson singer/songwriter duo of "Hungrytown" will be performing their traditions based folk music.

Camano Island State Park

    A special kickoff for a newly published book, "Exploring Camano Island: A History and Guide" by the author and Island resident, Val Schroeder.

Deception Pass State Park

  1. The General's 7 Dixie Band

    July 5, 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM @ Deception Pass State Park

    As musical ambassadors, this Dixieland jazz band performs all over Washington state supporting numerous civilian and military ceremonies and community events. Come sing along and tap your feet, or if the mood strikes, get up and dance! The group includes eight soldier-musicians from across the state who exemplify the Army National Guard's model of a “patriot, soldier, and neighbor.” The band is led by Sergeant First Class Michael Vandiver.

  2. Crumac - Irish Music

    July 5, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Deception Pass State Park

    Traditional Irish tunes and songs. Founding members are Tom Creegan on the tin whistle and the intriguing Uilleann pipes—the Irish version of the bagpipes—and Irish fiddlemeister Dale Russ. Mike Saunders, a long-standing singer/guitar player in the Northwest, joins Creegan and Russ. Since 1989, together and in various combinations, they have played from coast to coast—including the largest Irish music festival in the country—and as far west as Alaska and as far east as Japan.
