Enjoy a festival, join a fun run, tour an interpretive site, or just make your own celebration with a family picnic or camping trip. Choose from dozens of activities and events throughout the year. You can submit your state park event via email to get it placed on the calendar. The Discover Pass is required for vehicle access to Washington state parks and state-managed recreation lands. Cama Beach State Park

  1. Kids fishing derby

    June 7, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Cama Beach State Park

    This is a free family event, the derby is for children 15 years old and younger. Registration is at the Boat House, registration and fishing classes will be held from 10am until 11:30am. The first 20 to register will receive a new rod and reel thanks to Cabela’s. Free registration! Prizes for the top contestants in multiple age groups! Most contestants will win a prize but they must participate to receive a prize and be present at the award ceremony.

  1. 116th Anniversary of the North Head Lighthouse

    June 7, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ North Head Lighthouse Interpretive Center

    The 116th Anniversary of the North Head Lighthouse will be celebrated by Washington State Parks and the Keepers of North Head Lighthouse on Saturday, June 7th from 11am - 3pm. Event activities will include lighthouse tours, a lighthouse keepers residence open house, interpretive exhibits, birding tours and live music. Deception Pass State Park

  1. Ninth Annual Salish Sea Native American Culture Celebration

    June 7, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Deception Pass State Park

    The public is invited to attend the Ninth Annual Salish Sea Native American Culture Celebration with the Samish and Swinomish tribes. The event takes place at the Bowman Bay picnic area. The event celebrates the maritime heritage of the two participating Coast Salish tribes and features canoe rides, singers, drummers and storytellers. Artists from the two tribes will demonstrate traditional weaving, cedar work and woodcarving. A salmon and fry bread lunch also will be available for purchase during the event.

    Kids Fishing Derby Saturday June 7, 2014 at Lake Sylvia. Sponsored by the Montesano Moose Lodge and local Gray Harbor County businesses. Pre-registration on Friday June 6th from 3 PM to 8 PM at the Montesano Moose Lodge.

    There will be prizes for the following age categories 13-15 Yrs.old, 10-12 Yrs..old, 6 Yrs. and under. Breakfast is available from 7 AM to 10 AM for $3.00 per person.

    Come join in the competition and fun of Kite Flying. Or just come to watch and appreciate the skills of the kite flyer and enjoy the colors and diversity of the kites. This event is sponsored by Ocean Shores Kites, Inc. and Northwest Sport Kite League.

State Park Free Days

  1. State Parks Free Day

    June 7 - June 8 @ All Washington state parks.

    In honor of National Trails Day and WDFW Free Fishing Weekend, Saturday and Sunday are “free days” and the Discover Pass is not required to visit a state park. Please note, free days apply only to day use (not overnight stays or rented facilities).

    A Discover Pass is still required to access lands managed by the Washington state Department of Natural Resources.
