Subway - Walk in the Park

2014 Subway promotion -Walk in the Park voucher (300x149)The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is partnering with SUBWAY® restaurants for the third year in a row to promote Washington's great outdoors. New this year, the partnership is expanding statewide with more 600 SUBWAY® restaurants participating.

Beginning on National Get Outdoors Day, June 13 and continuing through Sept. 30, anyone who shows a Discover Pass at a participating SUBWAY® restaurant throughout Washington state will receive a voucher good for a free six-inch sandwich with the purchase of a six-inch sandwich of equal or greater price and a 30-oz. drink. Vouchers also are available at parks when staff is available.

“The partnership with Washington State Parks and the Walk in the Park program both encourage families to spend more time in the outdoors and promote healthier, more active lifestyles,” said David Jones, SUBWAY® Advertising Board Chairman. “Our goal is to educate our state’s children on the importance of staying active and inform families of the diverse outdoor activities that are readily available in the state of Washington. Getting outside and enjoying the great outdoors together is a great way to stay healthy, which is why we decided to implement the Walk in the Park program for the third year now.”

National Get Outdoors Day is an annual event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun. One of the primary goals of the day is to encourage new guests to visit public lands and reconnect youth to the great outdoors.

“We’re excited to be working with SUBWAY® restaurants to expand the Walk in the Park Program for this year’s promotion of the Washington State Discover Pass,” said Don Hoch, director of the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. “The Discover Pass provides access to parks and state recreation lands, and the SUBWAY® promotion brings attention to the healthy outdoor recreation options we have to offer. It’s fitting that we’re kicking off this partnership effort on National Get Outdoors Day.”
